Upper Daintree

After driving another 45min north we came to Upper Daintree (village)where we had nachos for lunch. Daintree is the oldest continuously living rain forest in the world. We realized we’d missed a turn and backtracked for a bit to find the Daintree Ferry, which we needs to cross the river ($28 return) to go any further north - not certain why they haven’t built a bridge.

The road from there was really twisty again and we drove slow because of that and all the cassowary crossing signs! Didn’t see any but they clearly are a thing in this area.
