We had another great breakfast and checked out of the Hammamhane hotel and used our public transport experience on to navigate back to the Asian
continent for our stay at the Doubletree in the Kadiköy neighborhood (paid for hthis one totally on points). Three trams later and we were there!

Apparently Gideons hasn’t made it to Turkey yet - this is in our closet :-)
After getting settled, we set out to forage for our next meal (always a good excuse to look around). The concierge at the hotel recommended we try a place nearby called Çiya for lunch, so we headed out to see if we could find it.
It was in a neat little shopping area with cute streets and a variety shops.
After a bit of exploring we found it (the manager gave us this neat booklet about them)
We had a good meal, and probably ordered too much again - it all looks so good (and the waiters are talented at offering just one more thing). We’ve had pretty good success using a translator app - not perfect but better that a language dictionary. Here are a couple of the dishes we had:
Turkish Lavash bread
Freshly made dough being baked in the oven
Çiya house special kebabs
There was also a red juice in a circulating dispenser that Tammy wanted to know about, so they gave her a sample...it was pickled beet juice! While it sounds weird, it was actually pretty good.
We walked some more after eating a found several picturesque scenes
Then a drink and dessert to end the day!

Not sure what to make of this, but had to have it!
