We left the Yellow River Are then drove for an hour into Jabiru to find a restaurant for lunch - not really what the town offers, so bought supplemental food at the local grocery then went to a park to make lunch. Cruel joke at the park - even though it was on a lake (and the weather was ~95deg), you couldn’t boat, swim or fish there due to the crocs. We debated going to Ubirr to see the aboriginal cave art, but it was a couple hours just to get there and back, so passed on it.
We had to decide whether to drive all the way back to Darwin or camp again, however the last camp in the park looked unappealing. We decided to drive and look for options, then fortunately came across Mary River Resort, which had campsites...as well as a pool, bar and restaurant, so we stopped for the night.
After setting up the tent (with a dozen wallabies watching - including a joey in the pouch), we looked into hiring (renting) a golf cart to take on their trails, but it was rented for the night so we did bikes as an alternative. Prior to taking the bikes out we took a refreshing dip in the pool, then bought a tinny (can of beer) on happy hour for later. We had a fun ride around a couple billabongs, saw a disgusting wallaby carcass, then caught the sunset on the back loop of the trail over one of the waterways.
